Another month has passed, and our baby girl is getting bigger. Reese weighs about 19 lbs. and is about 27 inches long. Reese is learning many new and exciting things. We had to lower the mattress in her crib after I watched her pull her self up on the bars.
Reese's menu is steadily increasing, and she seems to be enjoying it all. She is not very fond of the pureed peas but seems to like them whole. Reese is beginning to feed herself. So far, she has fed herself bananas, peas, carrots, and chicken in very small bite size pieces.
Last but not least, Reese is beginning to try and crawl. This was something I thought would never happen. It looked as though my sweet baby girl was a bit lazy. Come to find out, she moves when she wants to, and she has decided she wants to. I will post a video of her "crawling" soon.
Here are some cute pictures I took this past month.

4th of July Pictures
As I posted earlier, each summer we go to Grand Isle for the 4th of July. We started this about 6 years ago. My mom tries to get a picture of all the grandkids while we are down there. This year only Matthew, Nathan, and Reese were in the pictures. One afternoon all six kids just happened to be a Mom's so we got their pictures. I was going to only post the final, but thought the process of getting 6 kids under the age of 5 in one places was humorous and thought I would share.
Water Park
Baton Rouge just opened a new BREC water park called Liberty Lagoon. Reese and I have been a few times this summer. This particular time we went with my sister-in-law, niece, nephews, and mom. The kids had a great time playing on the slides and jumping in the water. The lazy river was their favorite. We put the four older kids in life vests and let them bob along in the water.
Hair Cut
I was trying to make it longer before Reese got her first haircut. She made it 7 1/2 months. Bobby thought she looked like she had a mullet. I didn't disagree.

4th of July
This year we went to our camp in Grand Isle for the 4th of July. This was Reese's first trip to Pop's fishing camp (this is a big deal to my dad). My parents, middle brother and family, and my family spent the weekend. My brother had a couple of friends visit while we were there. We had a great time on the beach, crabbing, boat riding, fishing, and eating. We missed my older brother and his family. They were unable to make it because of the new baby. The camp will be very crowded next summer.

It's a Girl!!!
My oldest brother,Brian, and his wife welcomed their third child Emily Ann to the world June 24. Emily weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches tall. Big sister Sarah was very excited to have her new little sister. Big brother Thomas is getting use to the idea of being the only boy and not being the baby. Reese loves looking at the new baby.

7 Months
Wow!! Where is the time going? Our little girl is now 7 months old. I am enjoying my summer home with her. In the past month so many things have happened. Reese is eating new foods and really enjoying them. She is sitting up on her own. Although Reese has not started crawling yet, she is making movements towards crawling. It is very funny to watch her try. Some of her favorite activities right now are: playing patty cake, blowing bubbles, and beginning to wave good-bye.
The bath toys are as much fun to eat as they are to play with. |
Sarah picked out this bow for Reese. |
